Martin M. del Mazo, Attorney at Law

Mr. del Mazo earned his law degree in 1996 from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law.  After graduation, he worked as a prosecutor in the Fulton County Solicitor General’s Office. During his career as a prosecutor Mr. del Mazo honed his trial advocacy skills and also developed a keen appreciation for the art of trial advocacy.

Mr. del Mazo has been practicing Family Law in Georgia since 1995.  In the past five years Mr. del Mazo has begun to distinguished himself as one of Georgia’s elite family law attorneys.  He has received both local and national acclaim for his trial advocacy skills and his professionalism.

Because of his commitment to his clients Mr. del Mazo has had great success in the courtroom. He believes there is no substitute for preparation.  His commitment to the process of trial advocacy has resulted in considerable success for his clients.

A significant portion of Mr. del Mazo s practice has focused on Family Law.  These matters often involve both complex legal issues and complicated emotional issues.  He and his firm have significant experience in litigation related to both the distribution of marital assets, and the protection of a parent’s child custody rights.  He has handled both interstate and international adoptions as well as international custody fights.  He is experienced in using mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law as alternative methods of dispute resolution in divorce cases.

Mr. del Mazo prides himself, not only for having a history of successfully resolving complex legal matters for his clients, but also providing a high level of personal service to each client regardless of the nature or size of the legal matter.  Although Mr. del Mazo has achieved a level of success in his professional life, his proudest accomplishment, by far, is the relationship he has with his wife and five children.

While not at work, with so many small children, Mr. del Mazo is able to keep his family law negotiation skills sharp, as in house counsel and second in command, in his own home, he is often called upon to resolve heated disputes concerning such pressing family matters as: the age appropriateness of bed times, the ownership rights to articles of clothing among siblings (usually shoes), determinations of who was actually in first in the TV room, and of course, why something so obviously unfair is, in fact, completely appropriate. Obviously, much of this work is done at a substantially reduced fee.

If you feel that you could benefit from the advise and counsel of an individual with both significant personal and professional family law experience please feel free to make an appointment today to speak directly with Mr. del Mazo.
